K2 STUDIO is a Chicago based architectural firm whose roots were established in 1968 under Phillip Kupritz. The firm has developed an extensive portfolio of both new and renovation construction, encompassing multi-family residential, religious, school, restaurant, office, cultural and community project types. K2's largest sector of work has been multi-family, ranging from single family, town homes, lofts and larger scale rental and condominium buildings. The firm has dedicated much of its efforts in the residential sector towards community based and affordable housing projects. Over the last decade, k2 has been evolving its portfolio with a greater focus on the commercial sector.

Invested in the advancement of design, k2 has earned numerous awards from its peers in the architectural industry and has been instrumental in concept, design and construction of over 200 developments in residential alone, accounting for over 15,000 individual housing units. Over the more recent decade, the firm has diversified to encompass a greater variety of projects, all building upon their extensive experience as architects.

K2 are headed by two main principals, Phillip Kupritz and Matthew Kupritz, who are dedicated to excellence in architecture and the pursuit of innovation in the profession. Both have masters of architecture degrees. In addition to the private practice, they have both taught at the university of Illinois at Chicago. Phillip Kupritz remains a professor emeritus. K2 prides itself on hand-on involvement throughout the complete design and construction process. The firm’s principals are directly involved on a daily basis in the advancement of all work and ensure technical proficiency in the practice of architectural detailing.
